Dental bonding is a noninvasive way to improve the appearance of your teeth, but many patients forget that this treatment option is available with all of the talk about dental crowns and veneers. At Bear Creek Dentistry & Orthodontics, we provide all restorative dentistry options in our Houston, TX dental office and help our patients make the best choice for themselves.

Here Are 3 Ways We Use Dental Bonding to Improve Smiles

#1 To Fill Chipped Teeth

Small chips may not require a dental crown or veneer, but the loss of enamel can lead to stains and worn looking teeth. Dental bonding, which we match to your natural tooth color seal the teeth and restore their original shape.

#2 Reshaping Irregular Teeth

If you have a tooth that stands out because it doesn’t match the rest of your smile, we use composite and bond it to teeth to reshape their appearance. We can use bonding to reshape one tooth or multiple teeth to make teeth look more uniform.

Since bonding adds to existing tooth structure, it is a conservative way to gain a whole new look.

#3 Filling Gaps between Teeth

Spaces or gaps between teeth can make your smile look less than ideal. Bonding provides a solution for small gaps between teeth, though it may not work for larger gaps and veneers could give you better results.

The process of dental bonding is very much like having a filling, but without removing tooth structure. Though we will need to prepare the tooth for bonding, we do not remove as much enamel as you might think. We simply roughen the surface and put a bonding agent on it to adhere it to the tooth and then harden the composite with a curing light.
