Dentures and Partial Dentures in Houston
Every doctor will tell you that maintaining a healthy diet is essential to longevity, good health, and avoiding many illnesses.
Let’s face it!
Food is a big part of life. Almost every holiday, family reunion, and celebration revolves around food. Tooth loss can make it difficult to enjoy your food or be able to eat it at all, which can have a serious negative impact on your quality of life.
At Bear Creek Dentistry, we offer a wide range of tooth replacement options, including dentures and partial dentures in order for our patients to enjoy a more varied diet.
Full (Complete) Dentures
Full dentures replace missing teeth on your upper or lower arch. When you first imagine dentures, you may conjure images of the boxy fake-looking teeth that your grandparents put in a glass of water next to the bed. Erase that image from your mind!
Today’s dentures are far more natural looking and esthetic than dentures of the past. Our dentists carefully select your denture teeth to complement your facial features and appearance. That way, you can eat confidently and feel great about the way you look.
We create dentures by evaluating your bite and your jaw function and then determining which esthetic denture teeth to use. We work with a highly skilled dental lab to make sure that your dentures look great and feel comfortable. If you are facing a number of upcoming extractions, we can even create an interim denture to hold you over as you heal.
Full dentures consist of denture teeth anchored to a pink, gum-colored base. When you smile, no one will notice that you have dentures.
You should still make a yearly dental appointment even if your dentures feel fine. We will perform an oral cancer screening and make sure your dentures still fit comfortably. We will also take a digital x-ray to monitor changes to your bone. When you lose teeth, you may begin to experience bone loss as well.
If you still have healthy teeth but are missing a number of your natural teeth, partial dentures can fill in the gaps in your smile. We choose denture teeth based on the appearance of your natural teeth so your smile looks consistent.
Partial dentures are often more stable because we use your natural teeth to anchor them in place. Since your bite can change over time, it is important that you bring your partial denture to your regular dental exams so we can make sure it still fits comfortably and make any necessary adjustments.
